Australian Safety and Compensation Council releases draft documents for comment

The Australian Safety and Compensation Council has released two suites of documents for public comment:

  • documents released as part of the development of the draft National Code of Practice for the Safe Handling of Tilt-up Wall Panels and Concrete Elements in Building Construction
  • documents released as part of the development of the new Workplace Hazardous Chemicals Framework.

Both suites  include a draft code of practice and regulation impact statement.

A draft national standard has also been released for the control of workplace hazardous chemicals.

Discussion papers have been developed for both suites of documents to assist with the submission of comments. The papers highlight the areas where comment is requested and provide instructions for submissions. Email submissions are encouraged.

The documents for review and discussion papers can be downloaded from the Australian Safety and Compensation Council website at www.ascc.gov.au  (Select 'About us' > 'Public comment' > 'Open for public comment'.) The documents are also available on CD.

Public comment for both suites of documents closes on 1 February 2007.
