Changes to Electrical Safety Regulation in QLD

The Queensland Electrical Safety Office has released a summary of the changes aimed at improving electrical safety which were made recently to the Electrical Safety Regulation 2002 (the Regulation) and came into effect on 1 July 2008.

The changes include:

  • qualified technical person for an electrical contractor's licence
  • requirements for performance of live work
  • eligibility requirements for electrical licences
  • electrical equipment approvals.
