NSW FAQ document for construction induction

WorkCover New South Wales has released a frequently asked questions document to assist stakeholders understand the implementation process in New South Wales for the National Code of Practice for Induction Training for Construction Work (ASCC 2006). 

This document is primarily designed to assist existing WorkCover NSW accredited trainers in the transition across to the vocational education and training based system.

Under the national code of practice the only training recognised will be the new national unit of competency CPCCOHS1001A Work Safely in the Construction Industry (General Induction) delivered by a registered training organisation.

The FAQ document explains:

  • why the system is changing
  • the implementation of the new construction induction model in NSW
  • the role of registered training organisations (RTOs)
  • the options available to existing WorkCover NSW accredited trainers.
